HELPING INDIVIDUALS & FAMLIES PAY FOR HEALTH INSURANCE

Find out if you qualify for a subsidy, when applying inside the exchange...

Subisdy Savings depends on Income and Family Size: In general, people
at the following income levels will qualify to save in 2014. The lower your income, the higher your savings will be. (The amounts below are based on 2013 numbers and are likely to be slightly higher in 2014.) Prices are the same inside or outside the exchange but the subsidy is only available inside the exchange and will take more time to apply for.

Up to $45,960 for individuals     (Poverty Level 11,670)
Up to $62,040 for a family of 2   (Poverty Level 15,730)
Up to $78,120 for a family of 3 (Poverty Level 19,790)
Up to $94,200 for a family of 4  (Poverty Level 23,850)
Up to $110,280 for a family of 5  (Poverty Level 27,910)
Up to $126,360 for a family of 6 (Poverty Level 31,970)
Up to $142,440 for a family of 7  (Poverty Level 36,030)
Up to $158,520 for a family of 8  (Poverty Level 40,090)
)? Possibly not...

Oregon's Cover Oregon applicants will be moving to the Federal Exchange Jan 1, 2015.  Will they continue to receive their Tax Credits/Subsidies and Cost Shares...

"What about Oregonians who are eligible for subsidies which the Health.gov site does not offer? The Affordable Care Act allows for tax credits through state exchanges, but not the federal exchange. So far, the IRS has ignored the difference, but a case is pending at the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia that could be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, said Bruce Howell, an attorney at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt who specializes in health law." Find financial help

Individuals and businesses can get help paying for their coverage. Financial help for individuals and families includes no-cost coverage through the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and Healthy Kids, or APTC to help pay for private health insurance. Businesses that purchase health insurance through Cover Oregon may be eligible for the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit.

Learn more about help paying for your insurance:

SUBSIDY'S: If you are at 400% of poverty level or below you will qualify for a government subsidy inside the exchange. Applying inside the exchange is going to be a very lengthy process including revealing information from your Tax Returns...and we'd prefer you didn't have to go through that if you won't qualify for a subsidy.
